The cultural institution, located in the heart of Zagreb, is named after Vatroslav Lisinski, a 19th-century Croatian composer, visited by more than 760,000 visitors a year.

Just some of the guest orchestras are the Vienna Philharmonic, the Israel Philharmonic, the Milan Scala Philharmonic Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the Munich Radio Orchestra, the Shanghai Philharmonic, the Budapest Festival Orchestra, the BBC Philharmonic, etc.
