The festival was founded in 1950. In the unique ambience of closed and open stage spaces of the Gothic-Renaissance-Baroque city of Dubrovnik, the festival is held at the Rector’s Palace, Lovrjenac Fortress, Minčeta Fortress, Revelin Fortress, Lokrum Island, Gundulićeva Poljana and Art School Park from July 10 to August 25.

With numerous music, drama and dance performances, it is one of the most prestigious summer festivals of its kind in Croatia, featuring the greatest domestic and foreign theater and music artists.
