Biokovo – a mountain with a root in the sea and a forehead in lightning. There are over 400 pits and caves, and some of them are forever full of snow and ice, while the highest peak of the mountain is Sveti Jure (1762 meters). The northern part of the mountain Biokovo was declared a Nature Park in 1981.
